With a new single on the way and an album due out by year’s end (December 2nd), Britney Spears is all about finding the right clothes to make her look hot.

And the “Gimme More” songstress was spotted combing the racks at Calypso boutique in Los Angeles yesterday (September 18) looking cute and casual in a grey tank top with jeans and chunky heels.
Just when we thought her court drama was over, though, it sounds like Brit Brit may be back in court on October 15th. This time it’s over her charge for driving with an invalid driver’s license.

But Spears’ attorney Michael Flanagan told press he’s not too worried. “Ninety percent of my experience in court [with this charge] is, once you get the license corrected, they dismiss the case. If you don’t, it’s a $321 fine. Neither option has been given to Britney. This girl has come a long way in the last year, she’s a solid citizen. Let’s treat her as normal.”

Sex And The City Launches DVD

It’s theatrical release on May 30th drew massive crowds, and last night Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall helped launch the “Sex and the City: The Movie” DVD.

It was a glamorous affair as the New York Public Library was transformed for the pink carpet event. And SJP looked stunning in a shiny sleeveless black dress with silky black gloves and bright red heels.
Co-star Kim Cattrall maintained her penchant for racy attire with an open-buttoned black shirt/jacket combo with a pair of black trousers, while Cynthia Nixon kept it conservative in a gold belted dress with matching shoes.

Unfortunately for those hoping for a sequel, Parker says it’s probably not going to happen. She told press, “It has taken the last two years of my life to get to this point. To ask for anything beyond that, honestly, we would have to be greedy. I don’t really even feel that it’s in our control.”

“It wasn’t difficult to let go, I think that maybe it’s because I’ve always sort of looked at this as literature. Maybe it’s because we have had so many chapters to tell. It’s always bittersweet, but I never have felt a need to do beyond what had been on the page.”

Jessica Simpson Sings For Charity

She’s always been a fan of helping those in need, and last night Jessica Simpson took the stage at the 5th Annual Nina’s Night Out to benefit the Rape Crisis Center.

Held at the Pearl night club inside the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, the shindig raised money to help women who have suffered from sexual assault.
And Jess looked stunning as she sang through new cuts off of her country album “Do You Know,” sporting a black and red top along with a pair of flair-legged jeans and black shoes.

Speaking of “Do You Know,” it sounds like Miss Simpson may be experiencing some initial success with the album as it debuted at #1 on the country albums chart.

She told press, “I’m extremely touched by the overwhelmingly positive response to the album. There is so much honesty and raw emotion in there. And, I’m just thrilled that country fans are giving it a chance!”

Given her worldwide fame and notoriety, Rihanna really can’t go anywhere on the globe without causing a bit of a stir. And yesterday the Parisian paparazzi were ready and waiting.

Following an afternoon shopping spree, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony celebrated his 40th birthday with a family getaway in Saint-Tropez on Wednesday night (September 17).

Counting down the hours until she takes the stage, Katie Holmes was spotted bringing Suri Cruise to the theater as she makes final preparations for her “All My Sons” debut later tonight (September 18).

Being held at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City, Katie will be joined onstage by the likes of John Lithgow, Diane Wiest and Patrick Wilson.

Tatum O’Neal’s Family Drug Use

She was arrested back in June for trying to buy cocaine, and now Tatum O’Neal’s father and half-brother are in trouble for drug possession charges.

The “Wicked Wicked Games” actress recently spoke to press about the dangers of drug use, and her concern for her family members. “Addiction, if untreated, can lead to jail, institutions and death. I love them both and I am sorry to hear about this.”

According to sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore Ryan O’Neal (67) and his son Redmond (23) were arrested yesterday in Malibu, California.

“Deputies were doing a routine sweep to make sure Redmond was adhering to his probation. Upon searching the premises, the younger O’Neal was found in possession of narcotics. Later, a vial of drugs was found in the elder O’Neal’s bedroom. We believe the drugs found were methamphetamines.”

Both men have since posted bail and have been released to await a hearing.

Lauren Conrad is Focused on Fashion

Always on the go, Lauren Conrad ventured out in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon (September 18) to run a few errands and stop by an office building for a short business meeting.

The 22-year-old reality starlet has been focusing much of her energy on fashion as of late - as she’s been promoting her latest collection and designing a dress for the 2008 Primetime Emmy Awards.

With the Emmy Awards taking place on Sunday (September 21), LC chatted with press a bit about the dress she created for the trophy girls. “The fact that I get to go and present and they’re giving me the opportunity to do the dress, it’s huge. I did green because green [is the] theme for the Emmys this year. [And I plan on] using a diamond brooch, signifying the Emmy’s 60th anniversary, to accessorize the gown.”

In an attempt to maintain her signature glow, Paris Hilton stopped in at the Portofino Sun Center in Beverly Hills on Wednesday (September 17).

Sporting quite the interesting ensemble, Paris sported a combination that included sweatpants and a motorcycle cap topped off with a Paris Hilton t-shirt and handbag.



Meanwhile, it appears as if Miss Hilton has found the perfect candidate to become her new BFF as part of her upcoming reality show “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF,” which begins airing on September 30 on MTV.

“The person who won is now my best friend. We hang out. Yeah, we’re really friends,” Hilton told Reuters. “We’ve been having barbecues and hanging out at the house. The winner and I have been pretty low-key so far, because it is top secret right now.”

Talking about how the show prepared the contestants for the go, go, go Hollywood lifestyle, along with the constant presence of photographers, Hilton added, “In my life you can get photographed at any time. You never know when paparazzi are going to be hiding around the corner. So my friend needs to be paparazzi-ready.”
